FIFA  fans have dropped their November 2020 lawsuit against Electronic Arts. The studio has been accused of using dynamic difficulty technology in FIFA Ultimate Team. The players were confident that the developers had applied the online spin-off patent, which she did have.

EA's patented technology for dynamically changing the difficulty of a match speaks for itself. For example, the patent describes situations when the winning team suddenly gets tired, or vice versa, the opponent's players start to run faster, throw more accurately and generally show sports miracles. This gives an advantage to the opponent, who can even the score or even come out ahead. The players who filed the lawsuit believed that an unexpected loss could motivate gamers to go to the store for another pack of players.

EA issued a statement stating that it adheres to the principles of fair play: “We have already said publicly that we do not use Dynamic Difficulty or any other technology similar to it. This applies to Ultimate Team modes in both FIFA and Madden, as well as the NHL. "EA  experts were able to prove to gamers who drew up a class action lawsuit that the technology is really not being used. The players decided to withdraw the claim. EA noted that this is a fair decision and promised that the patent will never be used in the company's sports simulators.
